Degrees of Obedience
Future Alumni Curriculum 1001 ($96/ 8 weeks) - This course lets puppies of similar ages to interact safely while teaching manners in dealing with dog to dog and dog to human interactions. Introduction to simple commands, such at sit, come, and stay. For puppies from 12 weeks to 6 months. 60 minute class.
Prerequisite Course 1101 ($96/ 8 weeks) – This course covers basic obedience exercises including sit, down, stand, stay, recall and heeling. Enrollment in this class prepares you and your dog for our other courses (please see us, if you have taken a similar class elsewhere, for assessments). A great class for any dog teaching life commands. 60 minute class.
Associate Obedience 1201 ($99/ 8 weeks) – This course building on the basic obedience and adds new material, including figure eight, stand for exams, timed stays, etc. A great class to ready the dog for the AKC Novice competition. 60 minute class.
Bachelor Obedience 1301 ($99/ 8 weeks) – This courses building on the mid-level obedience and adds out of sight stays, loose/off leash heeling, beginning retrievals, etc. A great class to ready the dog for AKC Open competition. 60 minute class.
Master Obedience 1401 ($100/ 8 weeks) – This course is building on the open obedience and adds distance signals, scent work, directed retrieve and jumping, etc. A great class to ready the dog for AKC Utility competition. 60 minute class.
Canine Good Citizen 2101 ($96/ 8 weeks) – This course would prepare the dog to take the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen test. They will be working on the ten items that they will be tested on; including accepting strange people and dogs, being gently groomed, loose leash walking, etc. 60 minute class.
Young Scholars 3101 ($96/ 8 weeks) – This eight week class has the kids (ages 9 to 18 years old) training their dogs in basic obedience and tricks. Must have adults stay with children under the age of 13. Please also note that dogs in heat are not allowed to be in this class during that time, but the handlers are welcome to come to the class and see was what is being taught. 60 minute class.
Elective Courses
Conformation/Showmanship/Juniors 1200 ($7 each class) – This course would help train for AKC conformation and 4-H showmanship. It would include walking on a show lead, placed and free stacking, baiting, terminology on Class wins, etc. 60 minute class.Rally 1300 ($96/ 8 weeks) – This eight week class covers how to run through a rally course. It would include basic and mid-level obedience to visual cues in a timed period. 60 minute class.
Disc Dog Developmental Course 1400 ($96/ 8 weeks) – This course lays the foundation for Disc Dog competitions, learning to retrieve, catch, jump catch, etc. 60 minute class.
Dog Commons 1500 ($8 each class) – This session would include useful information in owning/training your dog for the first half and the second half having time for your dog interact with other dogs in an enclosed area. Must go through admissions. 60 minute class.
Study While Lodging 2200 (market price) – Have your dog trained in the items they need most work on as they are boarded at Rio Gran Dog Boarding. Must have at least one ‘Tutoring’ session after boarding training to teach owners the commands and techniques.
Tutoring 2300 (market price) – Train one-on-one on items the dog needs most work on, by appointment.
Intramural Flyball 3100 ($9 each session) – This course trains dogs to compete in flyball competitions. This includes learning low jumping, using the flyball box, and speed with accuracy. 60 minute class.
Theater Tricks 4100 ($45/ 5 sessions or $63/ 7 sessions) – This course teaches two new basic tricks each of the seven sessions. This includes shake, dance, roll-over, play dead, etc. 30 minute Class.
Advanced Theater Tricks 4200 ($50/ 5 sessions or $70/ 7 sessions) – This course teaches two new advanced tricks each of the seven sessions. This includes retrieval/detective tricks, on cue sneeze and barking, etc. 30 minute class
*Note – No handlers under the age of 15 can work with their dogs while in heat, but are welcome to watch their classes being taught and train at home.
